Go Paperless – And Take It WITH You!

Is It Time To Go Paperless?
Time To Go Paperless?

Are You Ready To Go Paperless?

Is your desk starting to look like this?  Mine was!  Well…not THIS bad – but not far off!

Everything from ideas, to-dos, shopping lists, quotes, things I want to remember, and everything in-between is jotted down on Post-IT Notes, notebooks, and wipe boards all over my War Home (OK – it’s just an office I call that.).

It’s embarrassing!

In my quest of living a New YOU Day Mentality – it’s time to change it NOW!

So how do you go paperless?

You can do one or many of the following:

  • Use apps such as Evernote, OneNote, and Reminders (Just to name a few) to jot down things you’d normally write on something physical.
  • Use voice recorders on your smartphone or tablet to take down ideas.
  • Send yourself a text message or email as a reminder or note.

A few of the benefits of going paperless?

  • One of the biggest benefits of going paperless – at least for me – is a lack of repeated info I jot down.  Now to give full disclosure – this is due as much to procrastination as anything – but not having the same items written down in several places is a big help.
  • When you complete items – you just check them off as completed and/or delete them.
  • You can easily prioritize what needs to be done – and in what order, it needs to be completed.
  • Your info goes WITH you!
  • And maybe most important to the whole paperless cause – you save trees!  (Which is VERY important if you’re a tree!)

FitRULES | Day 42

“If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney

What do you dream of?

I’m betting it’s not out of touch.

This site is about pursuing a Fit/Heathy Lifestyle – so that’s the dream I’m going to focus on.

Regardless of the book, video, post, and/or audio based on getting results – there’s ONE component present.

What?

ACTION!

Resolutions, plans, intentions, and even dreams are GREAT – but without the above-mentioned action, they’ll go nowhere!

Remember the following quote I reference on occasion –

“Energy and Persistence Conquer ALL Things.” – Benjamin Franklin

The energy mentioned in that quote IS action.  And the persistence is repeating the actions over and over again until the desired results are met and exceeded.

So…

If you want to lose weight – YOU CAN DO IT!

If you want to run 5 or 10ks – YOU CAN DO IT!

If you want to eat healthier – YOU CAN DO IT!

If you want to gain muscle – YOU CAN DO IT!

If you want to be more flexible – YOU CAN DO IT!

Just take ACTION today!

FitRULES | Day 36

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela

Today – before leaving the Aerobics Room at the gym – a guy asked me how long I go on the Elliptical each day. I said, “45 minutes.” He said, “I could NEVER do that!” I replied, “Sure you can!  If I can do it – anyone can!”

That wasn’t meant to be a dig on myself.  He was a young guy who clearly spent more time at the gym lifting than doing aerobics.  I’m a 48-year-old guy who by BMI (Body Mass Index) Standards is considered Morbidly Obese.  If all that wasn’t enough – I have horribly bad knees, a torn Rotator Cuff, and a tear between my 4th and 5th vertebrae.  We are clearly on opposite sides of youth!

There are days where I dislike all 45 minutes of my workout!  And many other days where I have that little devil on my shoulder telling me to quit.  But I know if I want to reach my goal of losing 115 lbs (I’ve lost almost 40 lbs and 13 inches so far) and getting down to 250 lbs – I HAVE to do what is needed.  And in my case – that’s 45 minutes per day on the Elliptical.

And when he – or anyone else that DESIRES to do it – decides it’s time to do 45 minutes (Or ANY other activity previously thought
